Happy Valentine's Day!

This week was a fabulous celebration of friendship for Valentine's Day.  They were so excited to give their Valentines to their friends.  It was apparent that a lot of thought went into who should get each particular card.

In math, we are using the vocabulary compose and decompose.  Compose means to build a number with groups.  Decompose means to break a number apart into groups.  We have been composing and decomposing numbers to ten.  We also sorted candy hearts and made graphs.

In Readers Workshop, we have been building our super powers.  We are now looking at the pictures not just to see what is in the picture, but where it is and what is happening.

We are continuing to practice blending cvc words to read them fluently.  We have also been writing cvc words as well.
