Week 22

We had another great week in Kindergarten.  We had a visit from Mrs. Herr who read a book about just being yourself.  Ms. Clare is  a writing consultant who did a model lesson for the kindergarten teacher.  Our class was lucky enough to be the model class.  She stressed how important it was for kindergarteners to compare and contrast things.  We used the words alike and different.  The students had two different animals to tell how they are the same and different.

In math, we are continue to work on the concepts of addition and subtraction.  We continue to perfect our counting strategies and identification of 2D and 3D shapes.

We read and wrote about penguins.  We are able to write complete sentences.  We still need reminders to put finger spaces between words and a period at the end of the sentence.

In Reader's Workshop, we are talking about all the reasons to reread a book.

Monday is the 100th day of school and we will be celebrating!  Next Friday we will celebrate Valentines Day with an ice cream party.
