Readers Read With A Partner!

This week we have been using our Readers Workshop time to read independently and with a partner.  We are reading nonfiction books by looking at the illustrations or photographs and thinking about what the author is trying to teach us about.  We are marking WOW pages with a post it to share with our partner or with the class.


In Math, we have been working on counting to 5, writing the numerals to 5, and showing numbers in different ways.

We practice the whole alphabet everyday with songs.  This week we sang "Who Let The Letters Out?" and put magnets in the doghouse drawn on the board.  Here is a link to a  YouTube video of the song-"Who Let The Letters Out?"  We also learned about the letter t. Our chant is T, top, /t/.

We are learning to read the word the.  Your child can go on a word hunt and find the word the in books or magazines at home.
