Let's Plant A Seed!

This week we planted some seeds.  The students chose from zinnias, sunflowers, marigolds, lettuce, pumpkins, basil, and squash.  We even repotted the plants in the classroom.

We have been learning to retell stories using fairy tales.  We tell about the characters, setting, problem and solution.  I have noticed that many of the kindergarteners find it tricky to name the setting of the story.  They want to get right into the action of the story.

In math, we are learning about flat shapes (2D) and solid shapes (3D).  We are also describing where the shapes are using words like behind, over, in, on, next to, under, etc..

Here are some books we read this week!
