Nocturnal Animals

We have talked about Nocturnal and Diurnal animals.  We have read fiction and informational books about them.  We have spent extra time learning about bats.

You may have noticed that our morning writing papers have not been coming home.  We have been writing class books to practice reading and writing our sight words.

In Readers Workshop, we are becoming Super Readers!  We have Super Powers that include Pointer Power, Sight Word Power, Partner Power, and Picture Power.  We have been working hard each week to write about our books and our thinking.

In math, we are comparing numbers 6-10.  It is important that students are able to recognize the numerals 0-10 and write them.

Our sight words now include: is, the, I, and, is, to, come, like, see, a, can.

Our taught letters now include:
a, b, c, d, e, f, g, i, j, m, n, o, p, r, s, t, and u.  We are practicing to form the letters correctly, name the letter, name the sound, and name a word that starts with that letter.
