On The Farm

This week we spent some time learning about animals on the farm.  We did some thinking about what we know about horses, sheep, chicks, and pigs.  Then we read a nonfiction book about each animal and talked about our new learning.  We made a book and concentrated on the capital letter at the beginning of the sentence and the period at the end.

In math, we are counting numbers to 10.  At this point, kindergarteners should be able to count to 10, write numbers to 10, and recognize numbers 10.  They are also beginning to build numbers in two parts, like ten can be made up of 5 red counters and 5 yellow counters.

We had so much fun visiting with the parents and grandparents who were able to attend on Thursday.  If you weren't able to come this time, don't worry, we will have other celebrations of our learning.
