Pumpkin Investigation

This week we investigated pumpkins.  We had a medium sized pumpkin and really observed it.  One of the most interesting things we found was that pumpkins float-even though they are so heavy!  We also started the process of counting the seeds.  Next week we will finish and come up with a final count.

We added a and g to our Fundations letters.  We practiced the word my.

We began Topic 3 in math.  We are learning to count 6 to 10 objects accurately and record the numbers with drawings and by writing numerals.

We are finishing our first unit in Readers Workshop next week.  We are inviting one guest per kindergartener to join us for a half hour on Thursday, October 20 from 10:00-10:30.  We will show you what Readers Workshop is all about and your child will "read" a story that we have been practicing.

We are in need of tissues, if you are able to send in a box, it would be much appreciated.  Thank you!
