Happy Holidays!

This week we "visited" Germany, Holland, Mexico, and Russia.  In Germany, we made nutcrackers.  We tried on wooden shoes and drew what we would like to get in them for Holland.  We made poinsettias which are in bloom in Mexico.  Mrs. Sargent lent us her Babushka collection and then we made our own to represent Russia.

In math, we are continuing to write addition equations to represent our thinking.  We also have been learning that it doesn't matter what order the addends are in, they still make the same sum.  For example, 3 + 2 = 5 and 2 + 3 = 5.

We finished unit 1 in Fundations.  The students should now know how to name the letter, produce the letter sound, and write all lowercase letters.
We have finished learning about our Reading Super Powers.  We will be celebrating next week by dressing like super heroes on Wednesday.
