Welcome to Kindergarten!

This has been an amazing week and a half with your children.  We are learning our kindergarten routine and how to become more independent.  Thank you for your patience as we learn your child and their needs.  I know snack and lunch can be confusing for kindergarteners.  You can help your child by practicing what they need in the morning so that when I ask, we don't have to go through their entire backpack.  It does get easier-I promise!

We have been learning what it looks like to be ready to learn:
We also learned how to take care of books by being a book lover.

We already have some favorite books.

In math, we have been talking about same, different and how to sort.  At home, you can sort toys, cereal pieces, rocks, shells or leaves!  Be sure to talk about why things belong together.  It is also important to count how many are in each group.  You can encourage your child to compare the counts using more and less.

Thanks for your support at Open House night.  This is the first time I can remember having a 100 percent turnout.  We will have a great year together.
