We have been using patterns to help us read texts more smoothly. We have so many super powers now to help us be Super Readers! Our unit will end on Tuesday, and I have invited our Super Readers to dress as a super hero. We have been practicing books to read to our second grade reading buddies.
In math, we are finishing up our unit on classifying and comparing. We are able to classify when the groups are given to us, but it is trickier to come up with our own categories. You can help your child by giving them a group of toys to sort and encourage him or her to explain it. We are very good at comparing numbers using greater, less and equal. The students love to find things that are equal in the classroom. For example, this table is equal. There are two girls and two boys.
