Welcome to the Zoo!

This week we "visited" the zoo by reading lots of nonfiction books about zoo animals.  We made gorillas and giraffes.  We compared zebras and giraffes.  Finally, we finished the week by making our own zoo maps.


    

We are finishing up counting objects to 20.  We are getting really great at matching our counts to the objects.

In Readers Workshop, we have been reading nonfiction books.  We are looking at text features and the jobs of the author and the illustrator.  We are able to decide what the book is going to be about by looking at the cover and title.  We are also talking about new information we have learned from reading the book.
